What are the benefits of reading to my child?
Children love being read to! Reading to them often and early will help them think of reading as fun quality time. It will help them learn about language and books. Out of the parents we survey, many of them say that reading with their child is a great bonding time, helps their child learn and that the children love story time!

When should I start reading to my child?
Your child can benefit from reading aloud even while they are in the womb! Begin reading to them while they are still in the uterus and as newborns. It is never too early to start. If you haven’t begun yet, we recommend starting now!

Will reading aloud to my child really help him/her?
Reading aloud helps children in numerous ways. Children and infants begin to develop language skills, literacy skills and visual skills through the words and pictures on the page, and hearing your voice often. They will begin to understand how we use written words and books. They will also begin to associate reading with fun!

When should I read to my child?
There is no right or wrong time of day to read to your child. Many parents choose to read to their children at a regular time each day, in the morning, at meals or at bedtime. Setting a reading routine will help remind you to read with your child each day.
