How can I help Raising Readers?
Volunteers help Raising Readers in many capacities; with book preparation and delivery, organizing fundraisers, soliciting donations, reading to children and more!!  We are open to new ideas and partnerships, and if you would like to help us in any way, we would love to hear from you!

What does book prep and delivery consist of?
Many of our volunteers statewide prepare and deliver our books to participating medical care providers. On a monthly basis volunteers place bookplates, bookmarks, and post cards in the appropriate books and deliver them to the medical offices.

What other volunteer opportunities are there with Raising Readers?
Most often, volunteers help us with book preparation, delivery, and fundraising.  We are interested in hearing from you about how you can help get the word out in your community about the importance of reading to young children. You might want to be trained to make presentations for us so that local community organizations will learn about our valuable program. We’re open to suggestions about ways that you can help Raising Readers in your community. Please let us know your ideas!s

I would love to put my talents to use for you.  How can I do this?
The opportunities to volunteer with Raising Readers are endless.  Do you have great computer skills?  People skills?  Organization?  Are you introverted?  Extroverted?  No matter what your skills and talents, there is probably a place for you in our volunteer program.  If you aren’t interested in the jobs we typically have available, think about your own interests and talents and how you could use them to further our program.  Contact us, we may have some ideas too!

That’s okay!  We need a lot of help, but many of our jobs vary in time commitment.  Whether you would like to help once a year, for an event, or every month, for book prep and delivery, we can use your help!

While our main office is in Sheridan, our program is in all 23 Wyoming counties.  We need help all over the state!
